Video AI-generating models are continuing to evolve very rapidly. Last week, Google presented its latest Veo 3 video-generating model. This announcement is attracting significant attention, as video generation models are now capable of producing corresponding audio.

Pioneering AI Video+Audio

So far, this is the first and the only model that has an audio-generating feature. According to Google, Veo’s 3 audio-generating capabilities include creating dialogues, voice-overs, better lip-synching, and sound effects generation. This gives Veo 3 a benefit over its competitors.

The video-and-audio AI tool becomes available Tuesday for U.S. users subscribed to Google’s new $249.99/month Ultra plan, designed for dedicated AI enthusiasts. Veo 3 will also be accessible through Google’s Vertex AI platform for enterprise users.

Imagen 4 and Flow

And this is not it. Alongside Veo 3, Google unveiled Imagen 4, an upgraded image generator. This tool was designed to produce high-fidelity visuals from detailed prompts.

The company also introduced Flow, a cinematic video creation tool that lets users describe scenes, camera angles, and stylistic touches. Integrated with platforms like Gemini, Whisk, Workspace, and Vertex AI, Flow streamlines production for solo creators and collaborative teams alike.

Will Open AI catch up?

As OpenAI has recently added its own image-generating feature, it is anticipated that the company’s next step could be presenting a video-generating tool as well. However, in this Google-OpenAI race, Google seems to be 2 steps ahead. Let’s wait and see how OpenAI responds to its main competitor with its next technological leap.

When can we see the first AI-generated movie?

Since the very first AI video-generated tools started appearing, users started to utilise them, creating short videos for social media, ads, cartoons, and other media. However, the quality misses the mark. Even though the AI-video generating technologies are evolving very fast, we are not ready yet to create a whole film. Nevertheless, the future of AI filmmaking may come faster than we think.
