  • Zoom introduces AI Companion, formerly Zoom IQ, an AI assistant.
  • Features include catch-up in meetings, meeting summaries, and real-time feedback.
  • Available at no extra cost to paid Zoom users.

Zoom, the leading video-conferencing platform, has introduced its AI Companion, previously known as Zoom IQ. This innovative AI assistant aims to revolutionize the way users engage with the platform. Plus, Zoom aims at expanding significantly its capabilities in the coming months.

The new service offers a range of features designed to boost productivity and enhance collaboration within the Zoom ecosystem. One of its standout features is the ability to catch up quickly in Zoom meetings by asking questions through a side panel. This makes it also way easier for latecomers to get up to speed. Additionally, it can provide post-meeting highlights and auto-generated summaries, provided the meeting host enables these features.

Zoom plans to take AI Companion further by providing real-time feedback on user performance during meetings. It will offer coaching on conversation skills and presentation abilities, making it a valuable tool for personal and professional growth.

Zoom is committed to responsible AI. The company has assured users that it does not use their audio, video, or other content for AI training. Zoom employs its own large language models and collaborates with Meta's Llama 2, OpenAI, and Anthropic to power the AI Companion.

Notably, AI Companion will be available at no extra cost to existing paid Zoom users, further enhancing the value of their subscription.
