The developer behind the popular video game series Final Fantasy has announced the release of a new game that utilizes Web3 technology. Symbiogenesis is set to be an online multiplayer game where players can own, trade, and interact with unique in-game items on the blockchain.
Symbiogenesis will utilize the blockchain to allow players to own their in-game items truly. By using NFTs, players can prove ownership and sell their items on various marketplaces, enabling a player-driven economy within this game.
Square Enix, the game’s developer, describes Symbiogenesis as a unique Web3 game. This innovative game fully leverages Web3 technology. Players can explore a vast world, battle each other, and discover rare items.
Symbiogenesis Game Modes
From a narrative perspective, Symbiogenesis will offer six different chapters. Players must complete all six to reach one of three endings that will determine the story’s conclusion.
Symbiogenesis will feature quests and missions. Quests are tasks available to all players and will unlock the main storyline. Missions require more teamwork and are more challenging than quests. The main game tabs players will encounter include Daily Rewards, Information, Quests, Story, Character, Quest Item, Collections, and Roles. Most of these tabs are self-explanatory. However, players can find their character NFTs in the character menu and create NFT replicas there as well. The “Collection” tab houses player cards and other NFTs, while the “Quest Items” tab contains items gathered during adventures and allows players to convert them into NFTs.
Symbiogenesis NFTs may contain hints to help players achieve game objectives. Some in-game world items can also be converted into NFTs and sold.
Symbiogenesis: Three Different Currencies
Symbiogenesis will feature three different synthetic currencies: Slot Release Points (SP), Replica Release Points (RP), and Conversion Points (CP). Spending SP will unlock story sections, CP will allow players to convert in-game items into NFTs, and RP will help players issue NFT replicas in Symbiogenesis.
