Despite recent network congestion causing temporary Bitcoin withdrawal pauses, Binance’s move aligns with the rising demand for Bitcoin NFT marketplaces. This development comes as the Ordinals ecosystem hits a milestone of over 3 million inscriptions, highlighting the strong interest in Bitcoin-based NFTs.

Former Opensea Executive Convicted of Insider Trading in Landmark NFT Case

The former head of product at OpenSea, Nathaniel Chastain, has been found guilty of wire fraud in the US Department of Justice’s first-ever prosecution for insider trading of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Chastain allegedly used his knowledge of which NFTs would be featured on OpenSea’s marketplace to purchase digital assets in advance, selling them for profit when their prices soared due to demand. OpenSea’s CEO initiated an investigation into Chastain’s activities, resulting in his termination and subsequent legal charges. The conviction highlights the potential for fraudulent activities in the emerging NFT market. It serves as a warning that the government will take action against those who exploit vulnerabilities for personal gain. Chastain is facing potential prison time when sentenced in August.
