Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a fantastic adventure in the world of Star Wars. This is the best game for those who want to feel like a Jedi.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to 2019's Fallen Order, which follows the story of a Jedi who survived Order 66 and goes into hiding from the Galactic Empire, was released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series on April 28, 2023. Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the overall experience was marred by performance issues, especially on PC, while it performed slightly better on consoles.
The gameplay of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor incorporates several features from its predecessor, along with new ones. Stig Asmussen, the game's designer, has revealed that the new game will introduce five lightsaber attack stances. One of these stances enables Cal, the main character, to wield two lightsabers and perform quick spins, while another allows him to use a sword and blaster simultaneously. Moreover, one of the stances grants Cal the ability to utilize a handguard similar to Kylo Ren's, increasing the inflicted damage but slowing down his movements.
The player controls Cal Kestis, who can use five different stances, including the Kylo Ren-style crossguard lightsaber and blaster stance. Each stance is designed to combat specific types of enemies, making the player strategically choose their weapon.
The game features greater, more open-level designs, with planets like Koboh acting as a "home away from home" that players can revisit to discover new pathways and complete challenges in Jedi Meditation Chambers.
The game also offers expanded customization options for Cal's appearance, including outfits, hairstyles, and facial hair, making the character more personalized.
After leaving his former team, Cal Kestis becomes a resistance fighter and joins Saw Gerrera. He teams up with mercenary Bode Akuna to steal military data from the Imperial capital world of Coruscant. In the process, they are attacked by the Ninth Sister, a former Jedi who kills Senator Daho Sejan. Despite killing the Ninth Sister and retrieving the data, Cal is disheartened to learn that the Empire has become more powerful.
Cal travels to the planet of Koboh to repair his damaged ship, and he discovers a High Republic-era Jedi droid named Zee, who provides him with a High Republic tuner device. He activates the Forest Array and receives Force visions of two High Republic Jedi, Dagan Gera and Santari Khri, who discovered the mythical planet of Tanalorr. After discovering that the planet is inaccessible to the Empire, Cal, Bode, and Greez repair their ship and head to Jedha, where Cere Junda, Merrin, and Eno Cordova are rebuilding the Jedi Archives. Cordova explains that Dagan was the first pilot to find a path through the Koboh Abyss and discover Tanalorr.
After obtaining the compasses, Cal kills Dagan and uses Tanalorr as an impenetrable fortress for the Hidden Path to rebuild the Jedi Order. However, Bode steals a compass and kills Cordova, revealing himself as an Imperial spy and a former Jedi who turned to the dark side. Cal confronts Bode on the Nova Garon system, where Bode reveals that he made a deal with the ISB to work for them in exchange for his and his daughter's safety. Bode escapes with the compass and his daughter. Cal chooses to embrace his inner darkness to escape the Imperial garrison.
This fantastic game is a must-play for both franchise fans and gamers alike. Take on the role of Cal and travel to different planets to complete quests, battle fierce monsters, and gain valuable experience points. Star Wars: Jedi Survivor is a thrilling and engaging game that keeps you entertained for hours.
