The iconic French luxury fashion house, Louis Vuitton, has entered the burgeoning world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with its Via Treasure Trunks collection. Each NFT, priced at approximately $42,000, is physical-backed and termed a “soulbound token”, emphasizing its non-transferable nature.
The Via Treasure Trunks collection comprises a limited few hundred digital trunks, with registration opening on June 8th to consumers in select countries, including the US, Canada, France, the UK, Germany, Japan, and Australia. As part of the NFT utility, holders will receive a physical replica of their digital trunk, which will also serve as a key to unlock exclusive access to upcoming Louis Vuitton products and immersive events.
This bold initiative reflects Louis Vuitton’s commitment to innovation, and the brand aims to release limited products and experiences at regular intervals throughout the year. The non-transferable nature of these tokens is designed to foster loyalty and prevent reselling. Louis Vuitton's venture into NFTs signals a shift in high-end retail engagement strategies, merging the physical and digital domains.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment ventures into the burgeoning realm of non-fungible tokens with the launch of Superman-themed NFTs. Revolving around the iconic 1978 film “Superman: The Movie,” starring Christopher Reeve, these NFTs aim to recapture the thrill of the legendary DC superhero.
The Superman Web3 Movie Experience is a multimedia package that includes the movie in 4K Ultra HD format and extras such as image galleries and artist renderings by renowned DC artists. These NFTs can be purchased, traded, and authenticated for ownership via Warner Bros.'s online marketplace, powered by Eluvio, a content blockchain technology provider.
Starting June 9th, these limited edition NFT bundles become available for purchase with early access granted to previous WB NFT buyers. The packages are priced at $30 for the Standard Edition and $100 for the Premium Edition, purchasable via credit card or cryptocurrency. Buyers will need an Eluvio NFT media wallet for secure storage, streaming, and viewing of content.
Puma, the renowned athletic brand, is embracing the digital revolution through an innovative collaboration with LaMelo Ball, Charlotte Hornets point guard. The duo is releasing a limited-edition NFT tied to Ball’s newest sneaker, the MB.03 “GutterMelo”. This collaboration signifies Puma's entry into the burgeoning NFT market.
The MB.03 “GutterMelo” boasts a teal mesh base with vibrant red collars, abstract printed paneling, and light blue rubber outsoles. In its NFT form, the sneaker is masterfully rendered by Gutter Cat Gang in a 3D digital format, viewable from all angles on the Web3 marketplace OpenSea.
Interestingly, the NFT is not just a digital collectible but also serves as a ticket for buyers to claim the physical shoes between July 18 and August 20. The piece retails for $175 and can be purchased with Ethereum, credit, or debit card.
This release underscores Puma's dedication to innovation and customer engagement. It also places Puma alongside luxury brands like Prada, Gucci, and Karl Lagerfeld that have ventured into the NFT space.
